adidas SPZL Continues its 10th Anniversary Celebrations with the DECADE Pack  https://shoesandaccessories.in/adidas-spzl-continues-its-10th-anniversary-celebrations-with-the-decade-pack/ Fri, 07 Jun 2024 03:47:26 +0000 https://shoesandaccessories.in/?p=9478 Continuing the label’s 10th anniversary celebrations, this season adidas SPZL presents the DECADE pack – a footwear release that is an ode to all things archival Three Stripes, realized through the lens of Gary Aspden. Brought to life as a reimagined vision of the label’s past, present, and future, four iconic silhouettes from adidas SPZL’s past 10 years – the Garwen SPZL, the Lacombe SPZL, the Blackburn SPZL, and the Ardwick SPZL – are subtly reworked as anniversary editions.

First up, the Garwen SPZL, a silhouette originally inspired by the adidas Brisbane leisure shoes is updated in a light brown, putty, and gum colorway. The upper is leather with matching suede accents as well as perforations on the toe box and metal Trefoil branding.

The signature Lacombe SPZL, meanwhile, is brought back in a white, chalk white, and dark blue colorway. They include a number of new features including a breathable mesh tongue with patent leather branding (synonymous with a number of vintage Made in France shoes) and a suede toe bumper – paying homage to adidas’ rich history of court shoes.

Next, the DECADE pack’s take on the Blackburn SPZL – a shoe that had people queueing overnight on their first release in 2019. This revised version combines two previous iterations of the original Blackburn SPZL and Blackburn Ewood SPZL silhouettes and features a forest green suede upper, a night navy tongue and flock stripes. The shoes are finished off with gold foil prints of the Lancashire rose and the SPZL Mod Trefoil.

Finally, the Ardwick SPZL – these were introduced in 2014 as an edition of 500 pairs in partnership with Manchester stockist Oi Polloi (who have sadly since closed down) as part of the first ever SPZL collection. They created overnight queues outside the shop and have since become highly sought after for adidas collectors. This anniversary version comes with an adjusted shape, reworked T Toe, new tongue branding, flock stripes with a revised chocolate brown foxing (it was black on the 2014 release) against their now iconic moss green colorway. Staying true to the original 2014 version, the upper uses a reversed leather giving individual fluctuations in the colour from pair to pair.

ADIDAS UNVEILS THE SUPERNOVA PRIMA https://shoesandaccessories.in/adidas-unveils-the-supernova-prima/ Thu, 06 Jun 2024 02:30:00 +0000 https://shoesandaccessories.in/?p=9471
  • Built for maximum comfort, the Supernova Prima boasts the most DREAMSTRIKE+ super-foam out of all adidas running shoe models yet
  • Totally new, embedded Support Rods combine with the DREAMSTRIKE+ to provide unique comfort and stability
  • Available to buy from adidas.com/running-shoes via and key retailers from June 4, 2024
  • In 2023, adidas Running reimagined the Supernova family with a precise focus on comfort and fit. In 2024, the portfolio is expanding with the introduction of Supernova Prima – a brand-new model, launching in a Preloved Scarlett/Solar Red colorway, marking the first of five Supernova colorways launching this summer. The Supernova Prima is packed with more DREAMSTRIKE+ super-foam than any other adidas running shoe yet, inspired by – and built for – the most driven everyday runners.

JT Newcomb, Category Director, adidas Running Footwear, said: “Comfort has always been a key focus of the Supernova family. Through the testing process, we found that as runners develop, and as many start to think about taking their performances to the next level, they often seek out both extra cushioning and reliable stability. With Supernova Prima, we want to elevate everyday runs by providing more comfort than ever, as well as just the right level of support. Our team is ever inspired by runners’ progressing ambitions, and here we are striving for an experience that rewards those goals.”

Packed with comfort-driven adidas technology and design details, the Supernova Prima contains 13% more DREAMSTRIKE+ super-foam than the Supernova Rise. Debuting in the award-winning Supernova Rise last year, and inspired by the LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam used in the record-breaking Adizero family, this additional DREAMSTRIKE+ foam provides runners with unparalleled comfort as they venture out on their everyday runs. The extra 4mm of foam content is especially targeted under the ball of the foot, amplifying the cushioning of Prima from heel to toe.

The more cushioned midsole also works in tandem with the innovative new LIGHTTRAXION outsole – ergonomically designed to complement the mid and forefoot – keeping the shoe light and grip strong. The outsole is complemented by the wider Support Rods, which are slightly firmer than in the Rise, meaning the forefoot lands more supported.

The shoe’s multi-layered comfort heel fit pillow combines cushy foam and gentle textile, working in tandem to lock in and secure the heel in soft support. The heel construction works together with the open-patterned engineered mesh upper and soft eyestay design to deliver a plush, confident fit, all run long.

The new Supernova Prima comes in a Preloved Scarlett colorway for women with Purple Burst details and a Solar Red colorway for men with Pulse Lime accents. Priced at €170 / $160, the shoe will be able to purchase globally from 4th June, 2024.

This drop anticipates not only a launch of colorway updates across all Supernova footwear models this summer, but also a range of apparel for men and women in corresponding colorways.

ADIDAS UNVEILS FW24 LONDON TENNIS COLLECTION https://shoesandaccessories.in/adidas-unveils-fw24-london-tennis-collection/ Wed, 05 Jun 2024 03:43:03 +0000 https://shoesandaccessories.in/?p=9465 BUILT TO HELP REDUCE DISTRACTIONS

    • The new 10-piece FW24 London Tennis Collection features a combination of adidas technologies, including seamless engineering that reduces irritation in high-movement areas such as the underarm
    • adidas’ AEROREADY technology features in select pieces, using sweat-wicking or absorbent materials to help players keep feeling dry during high-intensity games on grass
    • The FW24 London Tennis Collection is available to buy on adidas.co.uk/tennis-clothing and via the adidas app

Herzogenaurach, June 4, 2024 – Today, adidas unveils its FW24 London Tennis Collection – a range of apparel crafted with comfort in mind – including seamless material construction, to help players focus whilst performing in major moments on grass court.

The seamless material construction, used in the Men’s Seamless AEROREADY FreeLift T-Shirt Pro and the Seamless AEROREADY FreeLift Polo Shirt Pro, helps to reduce distraction in areas that can rub during high-intensity movement, such as under the arm.

This combines with open-hole areas in the fabric that trace under the arm as well as the back and side of the body – improving breathability in high-sweat zones and reducing the irritation that can lead to distraction.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, Elite Tennis Player, said: “I’ve always loved playing on grass – the speed and the feel of the surface makes it one of the most exciting tests in our sport. And, this year in London, I know I’ll be playing against the best in the game, on a super quick surface, in one of the best atmospheres in tennis. So, my plan is movement and focus. Focus on the point at hand, play through the pressure, and make my shots in the major moments.”

Although a pure-white color spectrum is found across the entire collection, raised structures implemented on the base of select pieces, create the appearance of darker shadows that flow throughout – celebrating the different shades of light seen on a grass court during the summer months.

Supporting the demands of grass court tennis, the collection has been crafted for added mobility, unlocked by adidas’ FreeLift Construction – which incorporates adaptive stretch areas under the arm of each garment, to offer players a greater range of motion.

To help players in the heat of the moment, the collection also includes adidas’ AEROREADY technology, which uses sweat-wicking or absorbent materials to keep players feeling dry. This combines with AIRCHILL for the AIRCHILL FreeLift T-Shirt Pro – an adidas technology that supports players feeling cool through thermally zoned, raised pattern motifs and mesh layers, helping to optimise airflow during high-intensity workouts and matches.

The apparel collection is made in part from recycled materials and comes in sizes XS-2XL for men and 2XS-2XL for women.

The collection premiers at the summer London tournaments and will be worn by athletes including Caroline Wozniacki, Elina Svitolina, Xinyu Wang, Dana Mathewson, Jessica Pegula, Maria Sakkari, Angelique Kerber, Camila Osorio, Daria Kasatkina, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Davidovich-Fokina, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Martin de la Puente, Francisco Cerundolo, Jakub Menšík, Alex Michelsen and Luca Nardi.
